Weekly Round Up

With every week that goes by, this government sinks lower and lower into the gutter.

We have now seen the Prime Minister fuel the conspiracies of the far right, giving shameful legitimacy to those who seek to destroy our democracy.

Far from “getting on with the job” the PM is more focussed on trying to distract from the issues in Number 10 by changing his staff.

The British public will not be fooled by this shuffling of deck chairs, they know the game is up, and its about time the PM realised that to.

Yazidi Genocide

This week I had the honour of speaking in a debate on the Yazidi Genocide and called on the government to do the right thing, step up, and recognise the genocide.

What Daesh did was not just violence, it was not an act of war, it was an attempt to systematically break the spirit of a people and bring about their physical destruction.

Recognising the Yazidi Genocide isn't just a symbolic act, it is the start of taking practical steps to support those who suffered, and it is time for the government to act.

You can watch my speech from the debate below.

Visit to Enfield College

It was a real pleasure to visit the team at Enfield College earlier this week, to see the innovative work they were doing in providing skilled apprenticeships to young people in our local community.

We know the positive impact apprenticeships can have on young people, so it is really pleasing to see such a passionate provider and motivated students here in Enfield North.

I got to see some of incredible work being done at their Welding and Rail academies, providing young people with the skills and experiences they need to pursue a rewarding career.
