“We will remember them” – Feryal Clark MP

Feryal Clark, MP for Enfield North, will mark Remembrance Sunday amid very different circumstances this year as Covid-19 affects the usual programme of local and  national events.

This year, with England going into a new lockdown, Remembrance Day services and ceremonies have either been cancelled or stripped back to socially distanced events.  The traditional march past the Cenotaph will not happen, although a Government-led closed ceremony is taking place and will be televised.

The Royal British Legion are encouraging people to continue to mark the important day and to pay their respects to our servicemen and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

Feryal Clark MP said:

“Remembrance Day is an incredibly important date in our calendar; it’s a day when we come together to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, those who fought for Britain in her darkest days in two World Wars, and all those since who have given so much in service.

“This year, Remembrance Day is also an opportunity to recognise the importance of the efforts of our Armed Forces in their incredible mobilisation to help tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. As key workers, they’ve undertaken new roles driving ambulances, building the Nightingale Hospitals, and manning testing sites. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude and I will be proud to pay tribute to the men and women of our Armed Forces.”
