Enfield North MP urges constituents to keep safe during second lockdown

Feryal Clark, MP for Enfield North, is urging all constituents of Enfield North to follow the Government guidelines in place from 00.01 on Thursday morning to keep themselves safe from the Covid-19 pandemic.

From Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, the Government have mandated that people must stay at home, except for specific purposes, avoid meeting people they do not live with, except for specific purposes, and that certain businesses, including hospitality and non-essential shops, will have to close.

Schools, colleges, and universities are able e to remain open and leaving the home to shop for essentials, for medication, to access critical services, and to exercise is allowed.

Feryal Clark MP said:

“These new restrictions on our lives are of course frustrating and difficult for many people - but they are necessary to prevent further infection and to protect our NHS.

“It's important to remember that if you are concerned about your health – whether it’s Covid-related or not – you should still seek medical advice and are able to access NHS services. Also, if you experience domestic abuse or any other harmful behaviour at home, the rules around leaving the home do not apply; so please do seek help from medical services or the police.

“This is an incredibly challenging time and I know that many people are worried about the next month and the consequences of the lockdown for employment, finances, and wellbeing. If you need to get in touch with my office, we will all still be working from home and can be reached via phone on 0208 804 4543 or via email at feryal.clark.mp@parliament.uk.”
