Queen’s Speech Response

For far too long, the government’s flagship “Levelling Up” slogan, has delivered nothing for the people of our borough.

This Queen’s Speech was an opportunity to change that, but once again Enfield was completely ignored.

The council have tried consistently to work with central government to get extra funding, after their budget has been cut by over £70 million since 2018.

Time after time they have had the door slammed in their face.

The Queen’s Speech offers nothing by way of the new funding or new ideas that communities like ours desperately need.
