Weekly Round-Up
This week we have had yet another go on the Conservative Party’s merry go-round of Prime Ministers, with Rishi Sunak taking office after Liz Truss lasted just 45 days.
45 days where she did untold damage to our economy, with households across Enfield North facing rising utility bills, soaring prices at the supermarket and mortgage rates going through the roof.
We’re told that calm and common sense has been restored to Government but if this week has been anything to go by, that could not be further from the truth.
The PM’s decision to re-appoint Suella Braverman as Home Secretary, just six days after she was forced to resign for breaching security, shows just how fundamentally unserious this Government it.
Whilst the face at the top may have changed, it is and always will be the same old Tories who put Party before Country, with working people paying the price.
Urgent Question on the appointment of the Home Secretary
Given the dangerous actions of the Home Secretary, you would expect the Minister to provide reassurance that government business is conducted securely.
He didn't.
My response to an urgent question on the Home Secretary's resignation and reappointment.
World Menopause Day Debate
For too long, women have had to suffer in silence, afraid to break the taboo.
We cannot let that go on.
My contribution to yesterday’s debate marking World Menopause Day.
Baby Loss Awareness Week Debate
Baby loss is devastating for families.
More must be done to ensure maternity services have the resources they need to keep women safe and provide them with the care they need.
My contribution to this week’s important debate.
